Goshen Land, BSU Alumni take lead in MGDFB Cup

Crowd favorites Team Goshen Land and Benguet Alumni took the early lead in the men’s division with two wins apiece in the 1st Mayor Mauricio Domogan Football Cup that opened July 2, featuring football players in G – string.

Following an exhibition game between G- stringed players of Pinsao Hard 11 and Baguio City National High School
Football Club (BCNHS FC), Team Goshen Land defeated Benguet State University (BSU) Varsity 6 -1 in opening day.
Team Goshen Land likewise earned five goals to none over BCNHS FC the following day.

BSU Varsity bounced back from an opening loss by defeating Pinsao Hard 11 4 – 0 on July 3.

Not to outdone, Benguet Alumni score five goals over one goal by Pinsao hard 11 in the opening round before it scored two goals to none over Team Onse on Sunday.

Team Brazil meanwhile, emerged triumphant as it took home the championship trophy by ruling the eight under division during the opening day.

Bonifacio Elementary School snared the 1st runner up plum while young booters from Jose P. Laurel (JPL) Elem School settled for third place.

In the 10 under category, Teams JPL B, JPL A, Quezon Hill Elem B, Quezon Hill A, Goshen Land, Bonifacio, and New Life won in their respective games on July 2.

games resumed yesterday, July 09 and today at the Baguio Athletic Bowl before the championship games culminate on July 30.

Baguio Rep. Bernardo Vergara and Goshen Land chief executive officer Alexander Bangsoy graced the opening of the football cup.

The football cup is expected ti galvanize support from various sectors in future football competitions in the locality.
